In a recent development, The Medical Rehabilitation Therapist Registration Board of Nigeria (MRTB) named its Lagos zonal office building after Prof. Isaac Olaleye Owoeye, first Registrar/CEO of the Board.

The event which took place on the 26th of August, 2024, had in attendance both Physically and virtually, dignitaries, experienced and senior Medical Rehabilitation Professionals graced the hybrid occasion in honor of the living legend of the physiotherapy profession in Nigeria as many would later describe the icon, Prof. Isaac. O Owoeye

The Current Registrar/CEO of MRTB, Prof. Rufai Yusuf-Ahmad, welcomed all that were present and emphasized the need to recognize people who made impacts; especially when they are still alive. In his words, Prof. Rufai, said it is not easy to start or begin a thing, and that Prof. Owoeye must be commended for inaugurating and commencing the board. He further stated that his foundation was solid and thus it was easy for his predecessor, Dr Joguola to build on, who also transferred that same dogged spirit to Dr (Mrs) Akanle T.O as the third Registrar of the Board and now the mantle in that same manner has been passed on to him.

The Chairman of the event, Prof. O.A. Olajide who is the Immediate Past HOD, CMUL, Idi-Araba, Lagos reiterates the many virtues of the person of Prof. Isaac O, Owoeye and how the Physiotherapy profession in Nigeria is almost synonymous to his name.
Other Medical Rehabilitation Professionals each took turns to reminisce and spoke passionately and fondly on the enviable professional live and conduct of this icon, Prof. Owoeye.
