Continuing Professional Development
Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program is a forum through which health professionals maintain and develop their potentials to ensure that they retain their capacity to practice safely, effectively and legally within their evolving scope of training and practice to improve the quality of health care delivery/system to Nigerians and others.
As a requirement for annual renewal of Professional practice licence, the Medical Rehabilitation Therapists (Registration) Board of Nigeria (MRTB) has made it mandatory for all registrants to undergo CPD programmes with a minimum of 30 units’ credit points in order to have their practicing licences renewed for the coming year. Annual renewal of practice licence will be denied if the stipulated CPD units above are not met by professionals.
All CPDs must receive prior approval of the Board (MRTB). The Medical Rehabilitation Therapists Board of Nigeria will not accept non approved Continuing Professional Development certificate as evidence for CPD towards registration renewal.
